Reflections: circumnavigating the North Atlantic basin, and other wee things

It’s 11:30pm. Way past bedtime, but I’m packing my things for tomorrow: I’ll start wending my way north from here in Connecticut early tomorrow morning. It is good to be healing, and staph free.

Local News

One of the things I often do as I walk north on this trail is hitch a ride into the small towns I pass. Sometimes I do it for the resupply, but often I’ll do it to find a piano, or for the chance to sit in a cafe, bar, or local diner, because both of these things mean you get to meet a lot of folks.

Dear Ma,

Lots of people ask about you round here. I come in outta the woods, and they say things like, “Your momma know you’re out here by yourself,” and, “Your momma ok with you travellin’ around like this?” Then I say things like, “What momma don’t know won’t hurt.”
