There are three or four different types of lichen here, along with snow and a leaf:

LICHEN PARTY

Observe the preponderance of Cladonia cristatella, below (green stalk, with a bright red top), first scientifically classified by an American botanist named Edward Tuckerman in 1858.

AWW YISS

Also commonly known as “British soldiers” lichen. This is also definitely the only lichen name I will ever be able to remember ever. (other than Usnea, which is a scraggly lichen also called Old Man’s Beard, and makes an excellent tea for your health)

Also, here, I realize that my driftwood and rock picture below is not tiny by our standards. But since you like tiny things, you should also be pleased by this: I was walking along the beach, alongside the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and looked down to find this driftwood nestled perfectly into the shape of the rock.
